Picture(s) Of The Day

Once upon a time D.W. Griffith made a picture called "Intolerance" that required a massive set to look like Babylon. Naturally he chose to erect this set on Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards respectfully. When it was time to tear it down he had run out of money so it just sat there like a white elephant (yes, I know there are white elephants on the set, ha-ha). Finally after a few years of deterioration, it was torn down. A few decades later, about 9 to be exact, the Hollywood and Highland center was built next to the Kodak Theater. Their inspiration?

Mr. Griffith's old set. Thank you Hollywood!
